What is the purpose of your organization? The Center “Iguassu Itereí”- focus “Water, Forests, Mountains, Citizenship,” the prism “in situ”, the spatial unit of the river system, the watershed (MBH), specifically the MBH and the Cassador Basin/ Sector Itereí a watershed producing fresh water. It is an initiative of Itereí, based on extensive consideranda, and the National Movement of Citizens For Water, in line with the policies global, national, state and municipal. Aims to popularize the knowledge of “Waters, Forests and Mountains” and sensibiilize about its importance to humanity, such as elements and environmental commodities. The Center for Citizenship Movement Reference For Waters, Forests and Mountains IGUASSU Itereí values ​​on the curative preventive action, provides for the involvement of the community and around the Hunter MBH, civil society, as well as the inclusion of all actors. Envisions a consolidated action in knowledge, research and technology, and locally in the diagnosis of the socio-environmental participative MBH. Iguassu Iterei Centro de Referência do Movimento da Cidadania pelas Águas Florestas e Montanhas is an active member of EarthDay network, as well as of World Water Day Comunity producing acts and EE on this matter . Iterei has co-organized several environmental conferences on state level for the Environamental Sector as we have co-organized the !st São Paulo Rio +20 Seminar and apresaded the word on Rio+20 suject we also have particpated of Zero Draft, and contributied to shape the profile of mountains in the “Zero Draf, as you can see at

5. Support a Stronger Civil Society

6. Increase inter‐institutional dialogue

7. Further institutionalization of participation instruments

8. Raise awareness of mountain issues on political agendas

9. Consolidate or create specific mountain initiatives where appropriate

10. Improve sustainable mobility and sustainable technology for infrastructure

11. Improve knowledge and information systems

12. Improve data on natural mountain disaster

13. Increase availability of academic and traditional knowledge for specific SMD purposes and decision makin

14. Coordinate research priorities for implementing SMD

15. Consolidate or create specific national or regional mountain initiatives

16. Research and monitoring of climate change adaptation mechanisms, especially with regard to water availability

The secretariat considered the relevance of the work of the applicants on the basis of their background and involvement in sustainable development issues, particularly in the process of follow-up to the World Summit on Sustainable Development and evaluated  ITEREI and its delegates are competent and its activities relevant to the work of the Conference, the secretariat made  recommendations to the General Assembly for its decision on the accreditation of those non-governmental organizations and other major groups.
